Recovery care notebook / Cautions

# Ask who will help if a problem comes up.

Ask who will explain the product, answer a new concern and review the plan. Keep that contact route with the written instructions you receive.

For a new symptom or a product concern, ask a health professional about your own situation.

## Severe symptoms call for urgent help

A severe allergy may make breathing hard or cause the tongue or face to swell, says MedlinePlus.

MedlinePlus says this reaction can threaten life.

Severe symptoms call for emergency help.

We checked these urgent-help details on September 17, 2026.

Preparing a drug instead of supplying a ready-made product is called compounding.

FDA, the Food and Drug Administration, handles U.S. drug review.

Bring these product questions to the clinician or pharmacist.

| Concern | What is known | What to ask
| How it was prepared | Bad preparation can add germs to a drug or leave an incorrect amount of its main ingredient. | Who made this preparation, and which pharmacy board record matches it?
| How it is stored | Some products need to stay cold. Others are stored at room temperature. | Which written storage instructions apply to this exact product?
| Pregnancy information | For a compounded drug, FDA has not reviewed information on pregnancy or breastfeeding. | How do pregnancy, breastfeeding or pregnancy plans affect this discussion?

## Keep the medicine’s identity clear

Ask for the exact name on the label and the pharmacy that supplied it. If the explanation or instructions are unclear, take that uncertainty to the pharmacist or prescriber.

FDA reported weight-loss medicines made to order with false pharmacy names on their labels; this warning was checked September 26, 2026.

That example concerns semaglutide and tirzepatide. It is a reason to verify the named pharmacy, not a claim that every compounded drug is fake.

### Keep a route back to care

Ask who handles questions after the visit. Ask what would prompt a reassessment, and how to get help when that person is unavailable.

## For sport, check the exact substance

For sport under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s 2026 list, both BPC-157 and TB-500 are barred during and outside competition.

Tell the clinician if you compete, and ask your sport’s governing body about the proposed product.

## Reporting a problem is separate from getting help

MedWatch is FDA’s reporting program for medicine problems, and patients can submit reports themselves.

A problem report does not establish that a medicine caused the event.
